Let me shop..hold the guilt

We know your tricks. You buy something with cash so you don't have to let the hubby know. You bring things in the house sans bag and hang them up quickly so that you feel better about spending that little extra. You tell yourself you deserve it (and you do) cause it was a tough day. Well, we've rounded up some items that you can carry proudly and if you can get your accountant to write them off as charitable donations then more power to you!

What's more? These three companies are not only fabulous do-gooders they all have Tennessee roots!

Diana Warner

We have talked her up so much in the past few months and when we met her, she was just as sweet as her jewelry is beautiful. She uses her gift of design and proceeds from her company to join in the fight against African poverty and AIDS. As if that wasn't enough, she travels frequently to ensure what she gives is used wisely.

Monogram Charm Necklace

This necklace can be special ordered just the way you want it.
Available in Gold or Silver.

Phindi Necklace

Named after a beautiful South African Woman that Diana worked with to create her art.
Each piece is made with recycled stone or reconstituted turquoise.

Thistle Farms

We have talked about the Nashville based ministry of Magdalene before. They are so wonderful, we could actually write an entire blog on them. The Thistle is actually a weed that grows in random, obscure places. Although it is often ignored and stepped on, it is strong, resilient and produces a beautiful flower. That is how the women that work the business of Thistle Farms see themselves. They have a history of drug addiction and prostitution and a future that looks bright because of the skills they learn through running the business.
The bonus? Their products are high-quality and smell great!

Soy Based Candle

Available in Citrus Vanilla, Lavender & Tea Tree Mint

Lip Smoothies

Available in Citrus Vanilla & Tea Tree Mint

Visiting Orphans

We are so proud of the work that Visiting Orphans does in ensuring that groups of volunteers visit orphanages in areas with highest need. Not only do they visit, they actually ensure that the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of the children they visit are met. Even more, once they make those connections, they keep giving by bringing home these amazing paper bead necklaces and using the proceeds to continue giving back.

Rolled Paper Bead Necklaces

Available in Rose.

Can we just talk about mini skirts for a second? Personally, I LOVE them. It's a good thing, too, 'cause this season, they are all over the place!

There is a definite right way and wrong way to wear a mini no matter what your style, shape or size....

For those of you that are a little wary of showin' too much leg...we're thinking leggings, tights or even your fave' cowboy boots would look really great with these flowy skirts by Free People

Looking appropriate and sweet in a mini is key. This is the moment when you want to keep your tops, shoes and accessories simple. For a sweet summer look, pair these Free People minis, with a plain tank and flats.

If you want something that will transfer well into the fall with tights and leggings, this denim mini by Paper Denim & Cloth is it.

For those of you who are always on the go..I have a great suggestion: Skorts! (Yes, they are back, and they are awesome!) This skirt is in a fabric that is fine enough to dress up and a color that is casual enough to dress down. The shape flows away from the body and shows off the natural waistline. Choose a simple top that you can tuck in so you can show off that cute bow!

LA Made!!

For those of you who haven't heard of the amazing LA based design house, allow us to introduce you! Their knits are totally wearable and cute, and they all have that little twist that is just enough to ensure that your outfit stands out. In L.A., you can get LA Made at all the trendy boutiques and larger department stores. In Murfreesboro, you can get all the LA Made you need @ Anastasia's Boutique!
Gwyneth Dress
(Available in Cherry)
The straps on this dress are twisted so that it shows off your shoulders. It is styled like a wrap dress, but the inner flap is sewn in, so that you can walk and sit comfortably!

Madilyn Racer Tank
Available in Miramar (a bright blue hue)
I love a good tank top. I love it even more if it has ruffles on the shoulders, but this one takes me to new heights by adding ruffles on the back. So flattering.

Madilyn Racer Tank (back)
Evie Tunic Top
Available in Navy
This knit cotton top is extremely lightweight. It has rolled up 3/4 sleeves and very subtle knit details that give it an airy, summer feel. It is paired here w/ shorts, but goes well with your fave leggings or skinnies, too.

Double V Tee
Available in Lawn Green
This tee has a deep V in front AND back. The sleeves fluttery, flowy and very flattering.
The bright green that we ordered this in is so beautiful and bright you have to see it in person.
Charlotte Blouse
Available in Chocolate
This 1/4 button down blouse has delicate ruffles on the neck and a string that can be tied up a bunch of ways or just left long and loose.

Alex Jacket
Available in Putty
This fitted jacket has mesh shoulders! They really give it a cool look and feel. It is super soft and light weight! Because I'm addicted to jackets, I'll probably wear this in every place that is air-conditioned this summer!

Thea Tank
Available in White and Night
This long, breezy tank is like a sleeveless version of the Evie Tunic. It is delicate and classy enough to wear out and simple enough for day.

We are so excited for you to come in and try LA Made for yourself!
Don't forget to stop in and see us during Jazzfest this weekend!

Outfit of the Day!

It's about that time again! Time to show off some of our recent acquisitions from our fave: Free People!! We are so excited to have them in, because we know just how much you love them, too!

The foundation for this outfit is this gorgeous embroidered skirt!
It is fully lined and is embroidered at the waist with colorful flowers and at the hemline with black lace detailing.

The skirt is pictured with the Seamless Tube Top in Ivory, but we like it in Black!

To finish of the outfit, we threw this roomy black vest over it...
To finish it off, we draped on this beautiful pearled layering necklace by Diana Warner.

We are looking forward to hearing your comments! See you soon!
